It could be, like you said, caused by noise.. but it could also be caused by wax buildup, medications, ear/sinus infections, jaw misalignment, and other more serious causes which include cardiovascular disease, tumors, and head and neck trauma. It's probably one of the first non serious ones.. check it out :o)
Listening to music way to loud on your personal media player
I bent down to pick a pen up and my ear popped and I have had tinnitus ever since and that was 16 years ago. It can send a person mad you know, I had problems with it for a long time, now when I'm trying to sleep, instead of singing in my head to ignore it, I listen to it, so it blocks every other sound out. The only other thing is, sometimes when someone is talking to me, the ringing is so loud I ignore them, but not intentionally. You will get used to it.Its not an infection, if you have been told it is tinnitus, then it won't go away.SorryLook up this site and have a read.http://www.tinnitus.org/home/frame/thc1..
You really should seek professional help and not rely on the internet as a source of medical knowledge . It may cause you to go deaf .
Sinus trouble might be the problem. I get it realyl bad when my sinuses play up. Steam your head and get some acupressure, baby ;-)
