what could be the reason if you dont get your period for nearly over 2 months?

Answers:
There could be many potential reasons. Have you recently had unprotected sex? If you have, there is the potential that you could be pregnant. But if that isn't the case, have you been stressed out lately, more so than 'normal'? Because stress effects your cycle. How regular are your periods? Are they always on time, or are they ilregular ? Because if they are not regular, it just could be a thing where it has taken longer to start than normal . If thats not the case, I would recommend talking to your gynocologist, because there might be something more wrong. You don't necessarly have to go in for a visit, you should just be able to call and ask. Then you can go from there.
Pregnancy, Endometriosis, or in my case, I was told that I was somewhere btwn. menopause and a false pregnancy.whatever that means. This happened when I was 20. Go see your Dr. Good Luck!!
pregnant or abnormality of menstruation, if have a period that goes over for two months or more then you have it the other month, it means that you are potentially will not have a chance to get pregnant. consult ob-gyne
The major reason would be that you are pregnant. But there are some others also. You could not have enough body fat. Female athletes sometimes don't have normal periods. You could have fibroid. If you do not have a period for more than 2 months you really should go see a gynecologist.
Other than pregnancy, it could be due to stress, losing or gaining a significant amount of weight, change in diet, or a change in hormones. If you are young it is very common to not be 100% regular for a few years.
pregnancy!
Maybe you don't have adequate estrogen in your body. You may need to see a specialist about this.
Due to pregnancy or hormonal imbalance (between oestrogen and progesterone) or low hormonal levels.
either pregnant or over exercising. Some runners stop all together from body changes due to to much exercise.
How on earth can it be "nearly" and "over" at once?
There are a number of reasons:The first and most obvious one would be that you are pregnant. If you are anorexic/or a professional athlete with low body fat this could also cause periods to stop. Your body will be trying to preserve life and non-essential functions will shut down ie. ability to conceive. If you are an older woman, you could be having menopause but other signs would accompany this.Stress also causes irregular periods
The obvious is pregnancy. The not so obvious:
Athletic women and dancers will sometimes go years without periods simply for the overworking of the body physically. That is physical stress.Emotional stress can cause it.Endometriosis can cause it and that is fairly common, especially in American women. Instead of your body getting rid of the endometrial lining normally, via your menses, it passes through the uterine wall into the abdominal cavity and floats around until it attaches itself to something. Can be very painful but some women never even know they have it.Pelvic inflammatory disease can cause it.Uterine, endometrial or ovarian cancers can cause it.Hormone imbalances can also cause it.Some drugs and herbs can cause it.If you really want to know go see a doctor. There are usually free clinics in many places that can help.
Stress, weight loss, drug use, there are many sources to missing your period. First of all take a pregnancy test to eliminate that possibility then if that is negative I would see a ob-gyn. You never know whats going on and you shouldn't risk it.
How active are you with athletics? This will affect your menses. Also, you could be pregnant. And like others said endometriosis, stress levels, just starting birth contral pills, etc. Best bet, contact your OB/GYN or you primary care physician, it you have an HMO.
